Why Doing a Business May Not Be For You

Employment to Business
Think of a shark placed inside a small aquarium. Do you think he will ever grow to a size as huge as he should actually be? No, because his size will be limited with that of the aquarium. Now put the same shark on the ocean. Will he grow bigger?

Yes, but the growth will be hard for him. Why? Because living in the wild would be totally different

It will now require him to hunt for his prey so he can eat It's a condition far from the luxury he used to have when his master would simply drop his food on the aquarium. The transition would be challenging for this shark.

Will the risk be worth it?

The same holds true when someone is trying to make a transition from being an employee to doing a business. Being employed is like being a shark inside an aquarium. The aquarium is your work. So it limits what you can only be. The owner of the aquarium is your boss. The food that he drops on the aquarium is your salary. That's how simple it goes! That's how simple life is!

Now who would want to complicate that?

If that is the question you have in mind, it's either you're not yet prepared or you haven't realized something yet. A question that would make much more sense would (probably) be:

Would you want to spend the rest of your life inside an aquarium?

Imagine if you want to go outside that aquarium.

No what ifs

No buts

Just imagine.

Are you with me?

Just thinking of the way out and where would they get money from when there's no more food on a regular basis scares the hell out of many people. That's why they stop from the analysis phase and never make it to the action phase. They are often paralyzed due to too much analysis.

Change is vital
But sometimes, people would make the leap out of the aquarium! Alas, they don't know where they are headed! How could they? They don't even know where they are in the first place!

They simply jumped out of the aquarium!

To go to the place where you wanted to be, you need to first consider where you are.

Imagine yourself holding a map. Before you picture in your head how to get to your destination, you need to know exactly where you currently stand. Thus, you need to have two important points: Point A (your position) and Point B (your destination).

First, you need to assess your current position. Where are you? Because knowing your situation will determine how far are you willing to go for your destination.

Secondly, you need to know where you are going. You simply cannot hit what you are not aiming for. Because regardless of how perfect your execution of plan was, everything can fail with a wrong direction.

Wrong direction cancels hardworkThere was once a group of mountaineers led by a hard-working captain. They climbed the mountain and had countless encounters of trails. Finally, when the group reached the top of the mountain, one of them talked to the captain after using his binoculars and said:

Uhm, Sir, we're on the wrong mountain!

For you to be able to go from Point A to Point B, you must ready yourself to leave your current position. Otherwise, you won't be able to reach your destination. (You think common sense can dictate that?)

You need to let go no matter how tight your grasp on your Point A is. You need to let go of it in order for you to go to Point B. Most people want to go to Point B without giving up Point A, so they fail and never understand why.
